Raw food is defined as; fruit, vegetables, nuts, and seeds that are
in their natural state. This means they are never cooked,
processed, or altered in any way. When you eat raw foods, it
is important to choose organic, raw foods. Organic fruits, seeds,
nuts, and vegetables are grown without the use of synthetic herbicides,
pesticides, and fertilizers that can be toxic to the body. Most
non-organic produce is grown using these harsh chemicals. Choosing
organic produce also helps the environment by supporting chemical free
farming. Organic farms use no harmful sprays or chemicals
in growing their produce. This produces healthier product and doesn't
contaminate the soil.
Organic,
raw food is the most pure, untainted, and healthiest food for our
body. Raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds are easily digested
and contain the perfect balance of vitamins, minerals, protein, sugar,
and fiber to fulfill our nutritional needs. Research confirms that
eating a variety of raw foods may help reduce certain kinds of cancers
as well as promote cardiovascular health.
Organic, raw food is amazingly flavorful. People are surprised
that the Organic Pure bar is delicious and flavorful
without the addition of sugar, syrups, oils, fats, or anything artificial.
The huge variety of textures and flavors in raw food are endless
and incredibly satisfying. Eating a variety of raw food, may
help your body feel more satisfied with less food, and because
the nutrients in raw foods are so perfectly balanced, there is no
need to overeat. Raw food lifestyles (eating at least 75% raw food)
have been known to increase metabolism, mental awareness and energy
levels in those who participate.
Cooking food destroys over half of the valuable enzymes in food.
Enzymes are the catalyst for every cellular reaction that occurs
in our body. Enzymes help vitamins and minerals get broken down and
used in the body. Destroying
the enzymes in food makes it much less nutritious and much harder
to digest.
Almost all of the packaged food in stores is cooked and contains
unhealthy amounts of added sugars, corn syrups, fats, oils, artificial
flavors and artificial colors. These foods are unnatural to
eat. They lack the nutrients that our bodies need and are
hard for our system to digest. Many bars that claim to be
healthy (granola bars and fruit bars) fall into the above category
of processed, cooked food with unhealthy additives. These
ingredients can be harmful to the body, and because they don't provide
the nutrients our bodies need, they don't satisfy us and can contribute
to overeating.
Organic, raw food is a healthy addition to our diet. Choosing
foods like Organic Pure bar and other organic raw
foods not only helps the planet by promoting chemical free farming,
but it helps the body immensely by providing the highest quality
nutrition possible. |
